We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. If you are after a quiet and relaxing break this is the spot. The hotel is spotlessly clean and lives up to its stars. The food is v. good and the staff friendly. however the beach is quite a distance so if you are a beach lover you would need to hire a car. There are a lot of older people staying at the hotel so if you are after a lively bar and late nights this is not for you. a relaxing, quiet , enjoyable holiday.

Weekend Break at the apartments
04 February 2008
we stayed for 4 nights in jan 08 in the apartments, there is a hotel part which is seperate. on the face of it the room we stayed in was very large for 2 people and looked very modern (quality of the spanish builders is questionable though i had a snagging list as long as my arm) anyhow we had a great sea view. the staff were friendly enough. golf der sur itself is very quite with little to do other visit the local restaurants and the very popular irish bar to watch the footie.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and thank alpha rooms for making the process very easy and light on the pocket.

Review of 'Aguamarina Golf'

I found the hotel spotless, very effecient, the food was superb, and varied to suite everybody. The location is magnificent .I was impressed with the way the staff treated the elderly and indeed the young children. The gardens are well manicured and one particular morning I counted 13 ladies cleaning outside on the poolside. The activities in the hotel are second to none .My wife and I both think it's good value so much so we have decided to come back on the 18/09/07 and two other friends are coming with us . If I had a critism to make, I think the reception staff could be a little more customer friendly.

highly recommended hotel, good standard, clean and good facilities a big plus point is the standard of the food. another big plus point is the location, less than 10 minutes taxi from the airport, much better than las americas.A word of caution:i have stayed in this hotel 4/5 times and the taxi fare is between 10 and 12 euros,DO NOT let the taxi drivers charge you any more as the meter should be running but they make up there own fare!! good value for money, try it

Review of 'Aguamarina Golf'

We went to this hotel for a weekend break. After booking I read some reviews which made me groan. However I must say we found none of the criticisms to be true. The chap on reception couldn`t have been any nicer and if there was anyone with a bad attitude we weren`t aware of it. The food was plentiful, varied and hot and the wait staff were helpful and thorough. The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels provided daily as well. We did read a complant about cigarette ends being left lying around but only saw one and after all who left them there in the first place? You can`t blame a hotel for what the tourists do !! The entertainment was the down side for us but we were quite happy in each other`s company so didn`t feel we were missing out. There was a large contingent of SAGA and quite a few French families as well as other nationals and it was nice to mix with everyone.I don`t suppose with this sort of mix they would ever get the best entertainment. Please note some of the apartments are down a bit of a steep hill so be sure to find out at check-in where you have been allocated in case you have mobility problems. Overall we enjoyed our holiday and would recommend this hotel for a short break. We went half-board but ther are various restaurants nearby reasonably priced. as we were only there for a short break and it was most certainly value for money.

Review of 'Aguamarina Golf'
09 January 2007
We have just returned from a week long holiday in The Aguamarina Golf. We thought the hotel was lovely and found the rooms to be a good size, clean, and well kept. The swimming pools and gardens were also very well kept, and the building work going on next door was hardly noticable and certainly didn't spoil the enjoyment of our holiday in any way. The buffet was excellent, it was varied and always had something to suit every taste. We were lucky enough to be there for the New Years Eve Gala Dinner, and that was just spectacular with Champagne, Caviar and extra waiting staff to take care of our every need. The waiters don't have much English and we don't have much Spanish but we managed to communicate ok, and we were impressed at how they managed to deal with all of the different languages spoken by the guests. The hotel is situated right beside the sea in a very quiet area, the main attraction is golf, and there are a couple of shops, a few restaurants, and 2 Irish pubs within a few minutes walking distance. The hotel provided activities during the day, and the same staff took care of the evening entertainment which consisted of dancing, music and some light fun. They were a great team, hard working and full of energy. All in all a lovely hotel, We would definately go back and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. The area is especially suited to families and couples, and would not suit those looking for more lively night life.

aguamarina by the sea
05 December 2006
The Aguamarina Golf hotel is a large hotel facing the ocean and the marina on the Golf de Sur. It has a large impressive reception lit by chandeliers. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room on the 2nd floor was overlooking the mountains and the view was good and although you could see other resorts they were some distance away. The room was large and had two single beds and a sofa bed, fridge and TV with limited English Channels. The bathroom had separate loo and bidet and shower over bath. There is a buffet breakfast and was good with most tastes catered for. Buffet dinner could have been more adventurous but food good and plentiful. Indoor heated pool in Gym and outdoor unheated pool. Grounds large with good sunbathing areas and plenty of sunbeds and parasols. Extra pool and sunbathing area near beach which is black and rocky. Good choice for peaceful holiday but not ideal if you want bright lights and discos. Free bus into Los Christianos every day except Saturday. Building work taking place every weekday but the noise could notbe heard inside the hotel and could only be heard from the pool areas. All in all a lovely quiet clean hotel to help recharge the batteries.

We have just arrived back and it was excellent, the rooms were very large and ensuite, the food was excellent at all meals and a varied menu at all times, the all inclusive was great value and included everything we asked for, the animation team were fab, and kept the entertainment going at all times, the evening lounge was great and very clean, the building work did not spoil anything and we would definately go back, the bus into Los Christionos and Playa de las Americas was free and went three times daily. Do not hesitate to book this hotel it was great .

Review of 'AGUAMARINA GOLF'
24 March 2006
Just back from a week staying at Aguamarina Golf and had a wonderful time. This is a beautiful hotel with excellent staff and facilities. The food was excellent with plenty of variety (we stayed on half board basis) although starters were pretty much the same every night main courses were varied. Rooms were spotlessly clean towels changed every day and bed sheets changed twice per week. The entertainment programme was aimed at the more mature person and although we probably fit into that category we found it to be pretty boring. The pool area is well kept and there is no scramble for sun loungers as there are plenty available.

the hotel overall was impressive to come into, the reception staff were good ,the dininglady staff were most pleasant, but the staff at the dinner sign in for the wine and meal were not the right people for the job ,you must have people with the friendly attitude to do this.
