Agh Estepona Hotel

I only stayed in this hotel for one night. It is a beautiful hotel, the buffet food was very good and the staff friendly. The accommodation was very good.

Booking with Alpharooms was as efficient as always. One little let down was that Alpharooms rated this hotels as a 5 star (reason why I booked it) when in fact it is a 4 Star. A very good 4 star though, probably one if the best I have been to. Extremely clean, spacious and beautifully decorated room and well maintained throughout. I was lucky to be given one of the best rooms, which was sea facing and literally a step away from one of the pools. It is a very nice and relaxing hotel, however you need to drive if you want to go out. I went half board. Breakfast and supper was great, however the snack bar for lunch did not have a great selection. The Spa was fabulous, the best I have ever seen in a hotel in the Costa Del Sol. Pity I didn’t get the chance to use! Overall excellent value for money. At least with Alpharooms!!! J

Beautiful Hotel

19 May 2008
We stayed at the Agh for 3 nights the hotel decor is beautiful. Very impressed with all furniture in the lobby. Great value for money with the room and food - which was half board. Breakfast was fab, anything that you could have wished for from fresh fruit to english breakfast. The roof top terrace is so chilled out and view fab. The staff (especially on the roof top bar) were very pleasant and helpful. Spa was beautiful and treatments at a very reasonable price. I will stay in the Agh the next time I am visiting Spain.

I am a lone, mature traveller and always mindful of the need to make things as easy as possible for myself. I check, check and check again the various travel details i.e. booking seats in advance, luggage and even check in on line if I can. My travel with the airline was a dream of efficiency and on arrival at my hotel the reassuring service just continued. The receptionist was most helpful and whats more I had been given everything I had asked for when initially booking. My room was on a lower floor, by the lift and had a sea view. I had asked for a bath and a double bed, both were forthcoming and very very clean. The bed was wonderful and the bath was deep with lots of hot water. Holidaying alone is never easy and being rather shy I feel conspicuous in public areas. However, the staff were very polite and friendly, my room was cleaned as and when I wanted it, not whilst I was in it which I feel intrusive but if left the do not disturb notice on the door, my room was cleaned later. I will never get used to being alone but my experience at the AGH Estapona eased my self consciousness considerably. The spa treatments were wonderful, the indoor swimming pool was luxurious and the gardens very pleasant around which to wander. I would certainly return to this palace of sweet considerations, hopefully one day with a new partner with whom I can share its opulent delights.

The Agh Estapona is a wonderfull break from reality. The spa and massage facilities are outstanding. The staff are very friendly and helpfull. The food in both restaurants excellent. And the  live evening music very relaxing. Such value for money. We  were very pleasantly surprised as we did not expect so much for the low price we paid.Just a short stroll from the beach, along a riverside walk, where we saw large turtles sunbathing. We will definately be visiting again.

This was our second visit to the AGH Estepona and we were not disappointed.  As with the first viist, the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.  The rooms are very nicely furnished and kept very clean.  We found the food and presentation of it a very enjoyable experience.  The quality and variety of foods could not be faulted.  The hotel is located in an ideal area and parking our vehicle was never a problem.  I think the only 'downside' if you can call it that, is the  charge made to use the spa.  A daily charge of 10 euros per person can mount up over the week.  But this aside we will all return to the AGH in the near future.

Can't really fault this hotel, wasn't expecting much because of the price charged. The room was on the 4th floor overlooking the pool, it was clean, smart and the bathroom was more than adequate, lots of goodies to use.Balcony had the sun nearly all day with view over the sea, perfect! Entertainment on Thursday, Friday and saturday night! Food was plentiful, the prawns were exceptional, not a frozen one in sight.Staff were very friendly and helpful, asked for details of ferry to Tangier, they went on line and printed out the times for us. The only downside was the road that runs alongside the coast...busy and uncrossable unless by bridge, not much going on in the vicinity and the beach was a disappointment, but it is all along this coast until tariffa which has white sand. Didn't try the spa, but it looked very calm and very enticing, didn't have the time unfortunately.

The hotel was  great, the staff were very helpful and plesant, the room was fine, bar was good and not expensive BUT the food was very poor  quality and not hot, not much choice, would expected better from a 4 star hotel but considering the price it would be better to charge more and generaly much improve the food quality and presentation, pity it was let down by the food o

WE STAYED FOR FIVE NIGHTS ON THE WAY BACK FROM JEREZ AND FOUND THIS HOTEL TO BE TOP  NOTCH IN TERMS OF SERVICE AND EXCEPTIONAL VALUE FOR MONEY. THE BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD AND THE ROOM WAS FIRST CLASS. IF POSSIBLE AVOID ROOMS NEAR THE ROAD AS THEY ARE A LITTLE NOISY IF YOU ARE A LIGHT SLEEPER. ON THE WHOLE AN EXCELLENT HOTEL WHERE WE WILL CERTAINLY BES TAYING  AGAIN.

Lovely hotel, though made harder to find by the fact that our booking details listed the hotel as the "Grand Paraiso Beach Hotel" not the AGH, we therefore drove past it and had to ask many locals where it was and it took four people before one remembered that it this was the old name!  Once in the hotel though, we werne't disappointed, beautiful spa, two pools to choose from and a short walk to the beach.

'Away From the Maddening Crowd.'

My wife and I stayed H/B at this lovely hotel, during the last 2weeks of May 2005, albeit under its preveous name Gran Oasis Paraiso Beach Hotel. Services were very friendly and extremely helpfull, especially to communicate in Spanish for me (taking over an hour on the hotel telephone) to the Policia when I lost my expensive spectacles in Estepona. If you are looking for a  relaxing and friendly ambiance with excellant services, then this is the hotel stay at. The 300 metre or so stroll past luxurious properties down to the sandy beach is a joy in the sun. On the beach loungers and parasols are provided free and refreshments ,etc Service facilities are provided in the the hotels beach club house.
Great location for golfers and for visiting the top resort areas and places of interest.A car is preferable. Down side - the Self Service food on some days was not cooked paticularly well, but was wide in variety. Room accommodation was first class. Accordingly we are taking a 2 week holiday here again from the 14 to 28th May 2006 and really looking forward to it. Muchas Gracias!

Hotel rooms and leisure facilities are of a very good standard.  You must try the Spa facilities on the bottom floor - they are well designed and provide a relaxing environment.  Experience of the restaurant was mixed.  The evening meals did not provide much in the way of variety, food was not always piping hot and during the stay the food was not "labelled" so it was not always clear what was on offer.  Breakfasts were fine and provided a good contrast between English and continental offerings.  Would certainly stay there again as overall value for money was fine.

Review of 'GRAND PARAISO BEACH'

20 July 2005
We stayed in the Alsatli hotel for the first week in July 2005 and had an excellent time.  The staff were very friendly and very willing to help with any questions etc.
The bedrooms are well furnished and bright and attended twice a day which was great.  The food was superb especially the breakfast buffet which we couldn't fault.
We would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel.
