excellent hotel.Highly recommended
20 April 2008
My daughter and I were delighted when we entered our room. It was huge! There were 2 king size beds and room could have fitted another 6 of them . There was a huge telly, a sofa, table, desk and swivel chair. There was also a spotless clean, well equiped kitchen, perfect for having cereal and coffee in morning, though you could cook if you are on a shoestring as NY aint cheap. The only minor negative is the bathroom is small but I managed fine and I'm a "larger" lady.
Location is also superbe as Penn subway 2 minutes away, Times Sq 10 mins and Macy's(my fave) 5 mins. Will definitely stay there again.

Well located, clean, great staff
25 January 2008
This Hotel is very well located, five minutes walk to Times square and only about 2 minutes from the Empire State building.
The room I booked was a mini suite, it was smaller than I expected and a little old fashioned. That siad it was kept totally clean by the staff. The staff themselves were really helpful and a dedicated tourist desk in the lobby was really useful.

Affinia Manhattan
09 January 2008
My husband and I haven't stopped raving about this hotel! We stayed from 27th-29th December 2007 and from the moment we walked into the entrance lobby we were impressed with the general ambience of the hotel. The check in staff were friendly and efficient and fully explained how the hotel worked, even down to the free pillow menu!
Our room by far exceeded our expectations (we stayed in room 521). We have stayed in New York several times before and, like most people, you soon discover that NY hotel rooms are generally small/tiny! Our room was huge for New York! We had a massive kingsize bed which probably only took up a quarter of the main living room, and plenty more space with two desks and sofa with footstool. We also had a small, but perfectly functional, kitchenette (with fridge, cooker, microwave) and two closets, one with a safe.
The room was absolutely spotless and was maintained daily by the cleaning staff. OK, so the views weren’t spectacular from the three windows, but hey, you can’t have it all! And if a view is important to you, my brother in law and wife had a slightly smaller room opposite which had a perfect view of the Empire State Building.
The hotel couldn’t be more centrally located; it’s directly opposite Madison Square Gardens and is just a couple of blocks away from Macys. There are several subway stations within a few blocks of the hotel and a taxi rank outside MSG so getting around is no problem.
Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money and we will certainly book again when we next visit New York.

Just back from a stay in the Affinia Manhattan with my sister her daughter and my daughter the room was on the 18th floor it was very clean with a large bedroom, sitting room with pullout sofa bed kitchen and two bathrooms. Everything was provided iron, hair dryers one in each bathroom, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion and mouth wash. Staff are very friendly and they clean the room daily. I would stay in this Hotel again and would recommend it to any one who wants to be in the heart of manhattan.

Fantastic hotel, brilliant location, we choose this hotel because that was not one bad review which is very unheard of. The newspaper outside the door everyday was a really nice touch and toiletries aswell. We had a problem one night with noisy heating, which was rectified straight away, fantastic location, staff go out of their way, great choice of pillows! Definetly will stay here again.

21 March 2007
Stayed in the Affinia in March 2007. Cant find fault with anything, room was cleaned every day, sheets changed and Aveda Products replaced in the bathroom daily! It is an old hotel like most central hotels in Manhattan, but it is in no way drap or dowdy. We will be staying again...

Review of 'AFFINIA MANHATTAN'
21 March 2007
stayed there march 07 in a studio with kingsize bed, really comfortable bed and useful having small kitchen area. Lots of wardrobe space and drawers. Excellent location, within easy walking distance of all main sights etc.The staff were very efficient and friendly. Only dislike was the very small bathroom and small shower cubicle. I am a travel agent so would definitely recommend it to my clients and would gladly stay there again on our next visit.

Review of 'AFFINIA MANHATTAN'
18 January 2006
I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions: Decmeber 2004 November 2004, And I have just booked to stay agin this year in December again.
I work for a travel agency and I booked via them to go stay at this hotel and the main reason I booked this one is because of its location and the facilities it provides. Upon arrival at the hotel I got out the taxi and looked straight at MSG (Maddison Square Gardens) I never realised how close it was, its right opposite and Macys is 2 blokes down the road, upon entering the hotel the staff where there ready to help you and the rooms are lovley great size, facilites are great, since I went in 2004 they have redecorated the main lobby and it looks even better than before and I cant wait to go back to this hotel I even persuade many of my customers to go here and they come back wanting to book again, so take my advise you'll love it. Good luck and I hope you like it as much as me and my family and friends.

Review of 'AFFINIA MANHATTAN'
24 October 2005
My stay at the Affinia Manhattan was nothing short of impressive. From the moment I arrived, everyone from the doorman, to the conceierge desk went out of their way to ensure that I was taken care of. With constant smiles, and a focus on making sure that their guests stay is memorable, the folks at Affinia have a design that would cater to both the business traveller, and people staying for a vacation. Across the street from Madison Square Garden and Penn station, and within a quick walk or cab ride to most business and tourist locations, you couldn't pick a better place to stay. Rest assured, I WILL be back at this hotel.

Two steps from Time square
28 September 2005
In front of the Madison Square Garden, and very close to Time Square, and Empire State Building, the Affinia Southgate Tower (now Affinia Manhattan) has an enviable position. Don't look at the room in the Affinia web site, the room booked with Alpharooms is a guest room and not a suite, now you'll understand the different prices. But if you stay for a fews days and spend a lot of time walking in New York this is a very good solution.

Review of 'AFFINIA MANHATTAN' Suites
04 September 2005
When we arrived at the Affinia May05 we were given a small suite for 4. There was a waterfall comming from the above bathroom running down the walls into our bathroom and part of the bedroom. We were all moved to another room straight away the staff were very very helpful. Room service was very good. We would stay there again.
